Marguerite E. Wapneski

Marguerite Elizabeth Luplow Wapneski (nee Barnidge) 87, passed away peacefully at home in Juneau surrounded by her loving family. Marguerite was born December 28, 1927 in Gary, Indiana. She was the daughter of William and Blanche (nee Santo) Barnidge. Marguerite attended Saint Patrick’s Catholic School and graduated from Sparta High School on May 24, 1946. She graduated from Northwest Institute of Medical Technology in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1948 as a Lab Technician. On September 24, 1949, Marguerite was united in marriage to Arden M. Luplow in Sparta, WI. Marguerite started her career with Dr. Erickson, moved over to Beaver Dam Lutheran Hospital, and finished her career at Medical Associates Beaver Dam as their Lab Supervisor for 25 years. Marguerite loved to travel with her friends and family. She went on a family cruise to Jamaica, and traveled to Guatemala with her best friend Helen to see her adopted missionary child. In Marguerite’s travels, she also got to kiss the Blarney Stone in Ireland. She has also been very involved in her grandchildren’s lives. Marguerite even got to walk her favorite and only grandson down the aisle in his wedding. Marguerite was a counselor and guide to all she met. She will be most remembered for her love to laugh, joke, and taking charge of everyone’s lives. Marguerite is survived by her loving children, Andrew (Rachel) Luplow and Elizabeth (Noel) Barrera, her five precious grandchildren, Javier (Amber) Gomez, Katrina Barrera, Angela (Doug) Luplow, Ashley Luplow, and Amber Luplow, and her three dearest great-grandchildren William, Whitney and Angel. She is also survived by her brother William (Sue) Barnidge, her sister Mary Ellen Sawle, her sister-in-law Beverly (Richard) Regelein, as well as nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends. Marguerite was preceded in death by her first husband Arden, her second husband Jim, her parents, sister Josephine Balogh, brother-in-law Vincent Balogh, niece Mary Rita Balogh, and brother-in-law Hilbert Luplow. Visitation is Friday, January 30th from 4-7pm with Recitation of the Rosary to follow at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home in Juneau. Visitation on Saturday, January 31, 2015 from 10-11 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Horicon followed by Mass of Resurrection at 11am. Father Mike Petrie will officiate. A meal will follow after Mass. Private Interment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Hillside Hospice of Beaver Dam.
