Clarence A. Gildemeister

Clarence A. Gildemeister, of Horicon, entered eternal peace while surrounded by his loving family, at Beaver Dam Hospital, on Saturday, April 17, 2010, at the age of 81 yrs. Clarence was born in Germantown, WI on April 8, 1929, to August and Frieda (nee Sager) and raised in the Menomonee Falls area. It was there that he met and grew up, living in the same neighborhood to, the love of his life, Leah (nee Becker). The two were married at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lannon, WI on July 9, 1949. The couple resided in Menomonee Falls and were blessed with a wonderful family of one son and two daughters, of whom they’re extremely proud. In 1961, the Gildemeister family settled in Juneau, where they farmed until 1976. The last 25 years, Clarence and Leah made Horicon their place they call home. Clarence had a sense of humor that was contagious and loved to tease. It was always a joy to be around him and one couldn’t help but smile when he was near. He was a devoted member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church of Juneau, of which included serving two terms of being their Financial Secretary and being on the Board of Elders. Clarence is survived by his soul mate and best friend of 60 years, Leah M. (nee Becker) of Horicon; his cherished children, Clarence (LiLing) Gildemeister of West Allis, Linda (Rob) Feldman of Mayville, and Bonnie (Darrell) Krause of Horicon; proud grandfather of Kelly Wu, Jackie Wu, Bethany Gildemeister, Christopher Krause, Tanya (Leigh) Krause-Hender, Megan Krause, and Kaitlin Krause; dear brother of Grace Peil of Horicon and Edna DeKoning of Menomonee Falls. Further survived by five brothers-in-law and six sisters-in-law on Leah’s side, many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many cherished friends. Preceded in death by his parents, a sister and four brothers-in-law; Dorothy (Walter) Feuerhelm, Harvey Peil, Jerome DeKoning, and Leonard Becker. Visitation is Thursday, April 22 from 12:00 (noon)-3PM at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Juneau. Funeral service will follow at 3PM at the church. Rev. Paul Schupmann will officiate. Interment will take place at Juneau City Cemetery. Memorials in honor of Clarence are appreciated to St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church of Juneau.
