Ronald O. Reich

Ronald “Ron” O. Reich of Hartford was Born to Eternal Life surrounded by his loving family, Thursday June 26, 2014, at The Kathy Hospice at the age of 72 years. He was born Aug. 26, 1941, in Waukesha, WI, the son of Otto and Bernice (nee Brey) Reich. He was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Jean A. Gault, on July 20, 1963, at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Neosho, WI. Ron graduated from Hartford Union High School in 1959. He was employed by Libby’s in Hartford and Broan Mfg. for seven years before retiring in 2005, after 35 years with the Wacker Corp. Ron was proud to have been a member of St. Kilian Catholic Church for 51 years. Ron was an avid sports fan, watching and cheering on the Packers and Badgers. He enjoyed golf and bowling and bowled a “300” game at a national tournament. He loved to hunt at Grandpa’s farm and fish at Schultz’s pond and Fox Lake. He enjoyed spending time with friends playing cribbage and sheepshead and was not shy to step out onto the dance floor. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. Ron enjoyed going to their activities and was very proud of their accomplishments. Ron is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 50 years, Jean of Hartford, his loving children; Timothy J. (Anna) Reich of Arlington Heights, Illinois, and Pamela J. (Jeffrey Gudex) Gudex of West Bend, his precious grandchildren; Rebecca, Katherine and David Reich, Amelia, Kyra and Leah Gudex. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters, Jerald (Conception) Reich, Gloria Lafferty, Charlene (Dan) Ward and his brothers and sisters-in-law, Rosemarie (David) Wolbrink, Robert (Joanne) Gault, Donald (Beverly) Gault and James (Kathleen) Gault. Ron leaves behind loving nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Chloe Rose Gudex, his sister Donna Mae Komp, brother James Reich, and sister- and brother-in-law Joyce and (Dennis) Snyder. Mass of Resurrection is Wednesday July 2, 2014, at 7 p.m. at St. Kilian Catholic Church, 264 W. State St., Hartford, WI. Visitation will be at church Wednesday, July 2, from 5-6:45 p.m. Interment is Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Bartholomew Cemetery, Neosho. Ron’s family would like to share their sincere gratitude to the staff at the Lombardi Cancer Clinic of Slinger, the Visiting Nurse Association and The Kathy Hospice of the town of Polk. Memorials to St. Kilian Catholic Church or Kathy Hospice are appreciated. The Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home-Hartford is serving the family.
