Norma Leona Achter

Norma L. Achter (nee Kolell) of Hartford, WI was granted eternal peace on Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at the age of 80, where she died peacefully at Cedar Lake Health Care Center of West Bend, with her loving family surrounding her. Norma was born on February 22, 1931 in the Town of Herman, to Herbert and Meta (nee Berndt) Kolell, where she was also raised. Norma valued education and went on to become a registered nurse. She married the love of her life, Louis Achter, in 1981. She is survived by her beautiful daughters, of whom she was so proud of their success. Education was very important to her and she would encourage her children and grand-children to complete their education and look at it as a stepping stone to what they would become in life. Norma was very family oriented with a deep religious conviction. She was very proud of her German heritage and had traveled to Germany to enjoy the German language. She liked to crochet. She was actively involved in her church and condo association, where she also served on the condo board of directors. She will be deeply missed by all of her family. Norma is survived by her daughters; Marcia (Jeff) Iselin of Hartford and Nancy (Gregory) Rentmeester of Cascade, her brother, Norbert (Donna) Kolell of Fond du Lac, her sister Irma Wiedmer of Beaver Dam and her grandchildren; Andrew (Angela) Loosen; Kathryn Loosen, Daniel (Fiancé, Kirstin Riehl) Loosen; Nicholas (Jennifer) Rentmeester and Chad (Fiancé Heather Kiefer) Rentmeester. Also surviving are great grandchildren; Paul and Allison Loosen, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her husband, Louis Achter, on December 11th, 1990, and son-in-law, Robert Loosen, Dec. 6, 1997 and brother-in-law Arnold Wiedmer in 1999. Visitation is Friday, January 27 from 4-7:00pm at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home and Saturday, January 28 from 9-10:00am at Peace Lutheran Church, Hartford. Funeral Service will follow at 10:00am at church, Rev. Aaron Steinbrenner will officiate. Interment at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Memorials to People in Need “PIN” would be appreciated.
