Lilyanne Margaret Baird

Lilyanne Margaret (Lenz) Baird, passed away on May 27, 2012 at the age of 88. She was born August 26, 1923 in Hartford, the daughter of August and Anna (Persick) Lenz. Beloved wife of the late William “Bill” Baird for 60 years. Loving mother of Richard (Christine) Baird of Oconomowoc, William (Terry) Baird of Prior Lake, MN, Timothy (Alberta) Baird of New Berlin, Thomas (Deborah) Baird of Sterling, VA, Robert (Laura) Baird of Waukesha, Paul (Judy) Baird of Green Bay, and Janet (Doug) Kummeth of Midland, MI. Proud grandma of 22 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Further survived by sister Mary Ellen Haupert, in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Virginia Janowiak, brothers Raymond and James Lenz. Lilyanne was a life time member, past president of the American Legion Auxilliary and participated in annual poppy sales. She was also a member of the Daughters of Isabella and Christian Mothers. She volunteered with the Red Cross and Hartford Care Center. She enjoyed baking, working in her yard, spending time with family, and relaxing at the cottage on Druid Lake. Lilyanne was a patient, loving person, always caring for others before herself. She was strong in her faith and a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Visitation will be held Friday June 1st from 4:30-7 pm, at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home, with a prayer vigil at 7:00 pm. Additional visitation Saturday, June 2nd at 9:30 am at St. Kilian Catholic Church, 264 West State Street, Hartford. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Rev. David LaPlante will officiate. Interment St. Kilian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Kilian Catholic Church or Wellington Place, 615 Hilldale Drive, Hartford would be appreciated.
